The nearest London Underground stations are Farringdon or Barbican, both on the Circle, Hammersmith & City or Metropolitan Lines as well as the Elizabeth line. There are also multiple bus routes that will bring you to our closest bus stops.

This is the King Edward Street Entrance. The main entrance to the hospital, with the nearest tube stop being St Paul’s on the Central Line.

This is the Giltspur Street Entrance for both pedestrian and vehicle access. An ideal entrance if you’re planning to arrive by car or bike, are being dropped off, or need disabled parking. It is the closest entrace if you are arriving from City Thameslink station.

In our lovely courtyard, you’ll find plenty of shelters and outdoor benches. All surrounding our beautiful fountain at the centre.
From this central point you can see the main King George the Fifth building, at the top of the courtyard, and the West and East Wings to either side.

You’ve arrived in the West Wing, home of Breast Unit. The outpatients clinic rooms are on the first floor. The Macmillan Information Centre can also be found here on the ground floor. You’ll notice a classic decor with wood-panelling and original wood flooring.

Welcome to The Atrium. The heart of St Bartholemew's. From here you can make your way to any area of the hospital.
You’ll notice there are lots of areas to sit, as well as toilet facilities and lifts to all floors. The Guild Shop is open from 8:30am until 4pm during the week, And the hospital’s pharmacy is open from 9am until 6pm, Monday to Friday.

Downstairs from the main Atrium area, is the basement concourse. From here you can find your way to radiotherapy, endocrine day unit or nuclear medicine. There's also a small cafe serving hot and cold drinks and snacks.

When exiting the lift, you’ll find yourself on the 5th floor with long corridors to either side of you, lined with large windows. Turn to your right to head toward the inpatient wards.

Outpatient Pharmacy, here on the ground floor in the Atrium, is open from 9am til 6pm, Monday to Friday. It can help dispense any prescriptions you’ve been given by your clinicians here at St Bartholemew's.

On the second floor, you’ll find our full service canteen, serving hot meals, plenty of sandwiches and drinks. There's ample seating if you’re staying for a longer sit-down. The canteen opens for breakfast at 7:30am and closes at 3:30pm, every day of the week.

If you're arriving at the hospital by car or bicycle, this is where you'll enter. Looking at the building, you’ll see the glass doors ahead of you with a sign above reading 'King George V Building'. Head in through these doors when you’re ready.

From the West Smithfield Entrance, proceed at your own pace through to the courtyard, you’ll pass through these iron gates, and the Church of St Bartholomew the Less on your left.
Continue heading straight under the North wing, until you reach the courtyard.

From the courtyard, make your way toward the East Wing passing the grassy area. You’ll see a bright blue door frame with the words East Wing above it. Once inside, make your way up the gentle incline through two sets of double wooden doors. On the wall in front of you, you will find the signs to Clinics 6 and 8 as well as Percival Pott Ward and the PET centre.

From the fountain, look for the West Wing. The entrance has a warm wooden doorframe with the words West Wing etched into the wood above it. Once inside, continue along the corridor until you reach our beautiful wooden staircase. From here you can continue your journey into the Breast Unit or Macmillan Information Centre.

From here, you'll need to make your way to the Atrium of King George Fifth building, at the heart of the hospital. With the fountain and courtyard behind you, head straight towards this building - passing benches and a small grassy area, before arriving at the main doorway.
Above the entrance you'll see "King George the Fifth Building" etched into the stone, as well as on a smaller printed sign to the left.
Head through the glass doors. Then continue straight on until you see the spacious high ceilings of the Atrium straight ahead of you

The main King Edward Street entrance is a modern glass and steel building. Use the revolving doors, or this accessible automatic door to the left. Head on through and past the reception desk. Carry on down this corridor past the toilets on the right and straight through to the bright open space of the Atrium, the main hub for your onward journey through the hospital.

From the Giltspur Street entrance, drive or walk through these large metal gates toward the drop off point. After the gates, you’ll pass under a marble archway and down this long driveway. If you're on foot, stick to the paved pedestrian area on the right hand side of the road.
For the disabled car park, look for the left turn. For drop-off go straight ahead.
When you come to the yellow painted junction, with the bicycle racks on your left, you have arrived.

You'll see signage around the Atrium which marks different destinations. Notice the one which says 'Clinic 1' above a brightly coloured reception desk area. Make your way there to check in.

You'll see signage around the Atrium indicating different destinations. Across the short bridge, you’ll find Clinic 2 with its brightly coloured walls and seating area. When the shutters are down, the Clinic is closed.

From the Atrium, you’re going to make your way over the main lift bank for access to upper floors of the hospital. With Clinic 1 and Phlebotemy on the right, you’ll see 3 large lifts, separated by distinctive wood panelling. Make your way here to select your onward journey.

From here in the Atrium, look for a brightly coloured reception desk with large lettering that reads “Imaging Reception”. Make your way there to check in.

From the main Atrium, you need to locate the self-check-in machines for Phlebotomy. These are right next to the larger and brighter “Clinic 1” reception, so locate that and you’ll find this smaller phlebotomy check-in area in front of you.

From the main lift bank, you’re going to head down one level to the basement area, sometimes referred to as the minus one concourse.
Upon exiting the lift, follow this curved corridor until you reach the open area where you’ll find our cafe directly in front of you. Feel free to grab a bite or a drink!

When you arrive on the fourth floor, you’ll see signs directly in front of you, guiding you to your appointment.

From the lift, turn to your left and make your way along the corridor toward Bronchoscopy. Follow this corridor until you turn the corner at the end. You’ll find some public toilets on your left and will see the reception area and seating ahead of you.

We’re going to head toward the lift bank that will take you to the 5th floor Chemotherapy Reception now. Starting in the Atrium, head towards the courtyard exit and keep an eye out for signs to the Chemotherapy Unit.
Turn left toward the Chemotherapy Unit, and pass some more banks of seats, followed by Outpatients Pharmacy on your right.
Still following signs for Chemotherapy, you'll pass through two sets of double doors, before turning left, through one more set of double doors. There will be two lifts in front of you labelled F1 and F2.

When you reach the 5th floor, the opposite set of lift doors will open for you.
Make your way from the lift, straight through the double doors ahead of you. Immediately to your right you’ll see the Chemotherapy Unit Reception.

Call the lift. When you get in, hit the button for floor seven and make your way up. When arriving on the seventh floor, you’ll see a corridor lined with windows and seats.

Bearing slightly right, follow this corridor along until you reach the reception area.

After being dropped off, approach these automatic doors with “King George V Building” above them. Make your way through both sets of automatic doors where you will see a brightly coloured reception area to your left and Clinic 3 on your right.
Signage on the pillar will direct you straight ahead for “Wards, Departments and Clinics”.
Follow this corridor through four sets of double doorways, after which you’ll pass Outpatients Pharmacy on your left.
As you continue along this corridor, you’ll see Clinic 2 on your left as well, before you turn to your right, bringing you out into the open space of the Atrium. You’ll see the hospital’s shop straight ahead of you, and from here you’ll be able to navigate to your required clinic, ward or appointment area.
